External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said India’s Semiconductor Mission is not just about meeting domestic requirements. It is also about contributing to the global demand for trusted manufacturing. Addressing the SemiconIndia conclave virtually, the Minister said India can make a significant difference to the global economy with the increasing importance of Critical and Emerging Technologies globally. He added that India’s Semiconductor Mission is a powerful case for Make in India and Make for the World.
Dr. Jaishankar added that India is emerging as a trusted global partner by creating the infrastructure for stronger skill development, greater technical education, and a more vibrant innovation culture. He emphasised the importance of the semiconductor industry to achieve the dream of Self-reliant India. The representatives of major semiconductor giants including Micron Technology, Applied Materials, Foxconn, and AMD, are taking part in the three-day SemiconIndia conclave being held in Gandhinagar. The event is being organised by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology to showcase India's semiconductor strategy and development in the field of Semiconductors.
