New Delhi marks International Yoga Day with participation of Union Ministers and eminent personalities

Several Union Ministers, organisations, and eminent personalities are participating in yoga sessions across the National Capital Region to celebrate the 12th annual International Day of Yoga.
Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda today attended the Yoga Day celebrations at Shanti Path. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Nadda said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has rendered a great service by elevating yoga to the global stage. The Health Minister emphasised that Yoga should not remain confined to any country but should become a practice embraced by the entire world for the benefit of humanity.

External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar participated in a yoga session at Nehru Park in New Delhi. Ambassador of Norway to India, May-Elin Stener, also took part in the event.

Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya also participated in the International Day of Yoga celebrations at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. Actor Akshay Kumar joined the Sports Minister in the yoga session.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also participated in the International Day of Yoga celebrations in New Delhi.
 
While Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta and Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa participated in a yoga session held at the Asola-Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary in Delhi.
The Brahma Kumaris organisation celebrated the International Day of Yoga at Red Fort in New Delhi. Around 20 thousand yoga enthusiasts participated in Yogasana, Pranayama, and Rajyoga meditation sessions, as per the standard yoga protocol prescribed by the Ministry of Ayush.
