India calls for zero tolerance against terrorism at ASEAN ministerial meeting in Manila

External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar today held talks with Brunei’s Foreign Minister, Prince Abdul Mateen, to enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, drones, and digital innovation.

The discussion took place on the sidelines of ASEAN Regional Forum meetings in Manila, the Philippines. In a social media post, Mr Jaishankar said both India and Brunei also agreed to advance the bilateral agenda in line with India’s Act East Policy and further strengthen multilateral engagement under the ASEAN framework.

On this occasion, Dr S Jaishankar also held a meeting with the Papua New Guinea Foreign Minister Justin W T Tkatchenko to boost the bilateral cooperation through the Forum for India-Pacific Islands Cooperation.

In a social media post, Mr Jaishankar said India stands ready to partner with the Pacific Island Countries for their development and their maritime security. Mr Jaishankar added that India is committed to support Pacific Island Countries’ development, capacity building, and maritime security priorities.
