Puducherry Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan today called upon the youth to actively participate in the Nasha Mukt Yuva Abhiyan against drug abuse, saying that a developed India can be realised only by first creating a drug-free nation. Addressing a My Bharat registration camp at Pondicherry University, the Lieutenant Governor said, determined and committed youth have a key role in building a healthy and progressive society.
Mr. Kailashnathan urged the students to act as watchdogs and moral champions on their campuses to strengthen the implementation of the Nasha Mukt Yuva Abhiyan. He said, registration on the My Bharat portal enables young people to participate in various skill development programmes and provides a platform to showcase their talents at the national level. He added that the platform also offers opportunities to understand the diverse cultures of the country.
Earlier, the Lieutenant Governor visited the registration camp and interacted with the youth. Pondicherry University Vice-Chancellor Prof. P. Prakash Babu and My Bharat Deputy Director Traveen Charleston were also present on the occasion.
