The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) dismantled a clandestine Mephedrone manufacturing facility operating from a residential premise in Ankleshwar, Gujarat. The Ministry of Finance said that three persons involved in the illicit drug manufacturing and trafficking network have been arrested. During the intelligence-led operation, DRI unearthed a fully functional illicit laboratory equipped with sophisticated manufacturing apparatus, including laboratory equipment used for the clandestine manufacture of mephedrone.
The ministry said that the search operation resulted in the recovery of over one kilograms of Mephedrone in solid form, over six kilograms of 2-Bromo-4-Methylpropiophenone, a controlled precursor chemical, and other chemicals used in the manufacture of Mephedrone.
