The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has busted a pan-India gold smuggling syndicate with a seizure of over 6.6 kg of foreign-origin smuggled gold worth around over 10 crore rupees. The Finance Ministry said that the syndicate operated through the courier network and had transported 318 kilogram smuggled gold worth 475 crore rupees through courier channels in the past nine months. Eleven persons have been arrested related to the case, including one of the masterminds. Further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
