Door-to-door voter enumeration begins in Karnataka under Special Intensive Revision

In Karnataka, door to door enumeration of voters has begun today with the visit of Block Level officers, BLOs to the households as part of the Special Intensive Revision, SIR. Over 59,000 Booth Level Officers are deployed across the state for the exercise in all the 31 district election offices. Four additional district election officers, 224 Electoral Registration Officers, 336 Assistant electoral registration officers and 7556 BLO Supervisors are also involved in the revision process.

 

The political parties have appointed over one lakh 15 thousand Booth Level Agents to work along with the BLOs. Karnataka presently has over five crore 54 lakh 32 thousand electors who will be covered under the Special Intensive Revision. Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar who filled the enumeration form at his residence in Bengaluru today has called upon the first time voters to enrol as voters and assured them of all assistance from the state government to get necessary certificates.
