Benchmark domestic equity indices ended over one and a half per cent higher today. The Sensex surged 1,109 points to close at 73,034. The Nifty soared 359 points to settle at 22,722.
In the broader market at the National Stock Exchange, the Midcap 100 index climbed over one per cent while the Smallcap 100 index eked out a marginal gain of 0.1 per cent.
