Documentation for Chinese nationals applying for Indian visas would be simplified: Ambassador Vikram Doraiswami

India’s Ambassador to China Vikram Doraiswami said documentation for Chinese nationals applying for Indian visas would be simplified from next week to facilitate travel to India. Speaking at the the Indian Embassy’s first Open House in Beijing on Friday, the ambassador also said the mission plans to expand cultural events, establish a legal assistance mechanism for Indians facing work-related issues and hold Open House interactions regularly to improve consular services. Responding to concerns over anti-India content online, Mr Doraiswami said the Chinese government is also concerned about the rise in such posts and is taking steps to address the issue. He said the embassy is countering misinformation through fact-based social media outreach.
