District-level programme marks release of PM-KISAN benefits in Kargil

A mega district-level programme marking the release of the 23rd instalment under the PM-KISAN scheme was organised at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kargil, in collaboration with the Agriculture Department.
 
Farmers from across the district participated and watched the live telecast of PM Modi’s address during the nationwide release of benefits.LAHDC Kargil Councillor Advocate Riyaz Ahmad Khan, who attended as Chief Guest, said that coverage of more than 12,000 farmer families under PM-KISAN reflects the Government’s commitment to ensuring welfare schemes reach beneficiaries in remote areas.
 
Officials said 12,129 eligible farmers in Kargil will receive over 2.42 crore rupees under the 23rd instalment through Direct Benefit Transfer. Since the scheme’s launch, around 49 crore rupees have been disbursed in the district.
The programme also featured an awareness campaign on PM-KISAN and Khet Bachao Abhiyan, besides Kargil’s first Mushroom Field Day showcasing mushroom-based enterprises and value-added products.
