Digital Bharat Nidhi signs agreement with Chhattisgarh govt to digitise Gram panchayats & villages

Digital Bharat Nidhi, under the Department of Telecommunications, today signed an agreement with Chhattisgarh Government, Chhattisgarh State BharatNet Infrastructure Limited, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society for implementation of the Amended BharatNet Program in Chhattisgarh. Communications Ministry said that the agreement is an important milestone towards implementation of the Programme and enhancing last-mile connectivity and promoting inclusive digital growth. The Programme will have a total scope of more than 11 thousand Gram Panchayats, while over eight thousand villages will be provided connectivity on a demand basis to strengthen last-mile connectivity. The Government has approved financial support of over three thousand nine hundred crore rupees for implementation of the Programme in Chhattisgarh. The Agreement signed in New Delhi, is expected to accelerate execution of the Programme in Chhattisgarh and further advance the vision of a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy.
