Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh inaugurated the newly constructed District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) building and a new Ima Market (Women’s Market) at Salam Village in Imphal West district. The DIET building has been constructed under the Samagra Shiksha Teacher Education Scheme at a cost of four crore forty seven lakh reupees, sanctioned by the Union Education Ministry. The Ministry has approved the establishment of 16 DIET centres in Manipur, one in each district. The newly built Ima Market has been developed under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) project at a cost of 3 crore rupees.
Addressing the gathering, the chief minister appreciated the efforts for ensuring the completion of the projects. He expressed confidence that Salam Village would witness significant development in the coming years.
