Developed India Goal Depends on Advanced Agriculture & Prosperous Farmers: Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan

Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that achieving the goal of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) is impossible without advanced agriculture and prosperous farmers. Addressing the closing ceremony of the ‘Khet Bachao Abhiyan’ at the Agricultural University at Bawal in Rewari district of Haryana, the Union Agriculture Minister remarked that farmers are the backbone of the nation’s economy and their prosperity forms the foundation of India’s prosperity.

He noted that the Central Government is continuously working to make agriculture profitable, modern, and sustainable. Mr. Chouhan mentioned that the government is developing a mobile app to provide information regarding soil health and the specific quantities of fertilizers required. He advised farmers to adopt organic farming practices to preserve their farmlands.

Addressing the media, Mr. Chouhan stated that although the campaign is concluding today, awareness programs under the ‘Khet Bachao Abhiyan’ will continue. On this occasion, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini jointly inaugurated an agro-industrial exhibition showcasing the latest agricultural innovations, as well as the ‘Haryana FPO Mission-2026’. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stated that the objective of the FPO Mission is to make farmers self-reliant.
