The Embassy of India in Riyadh, in collaboration with the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, hosted a cultural evening titled “Desert Harmony – Sitar Melodies,” celebrating the rich heritage of Indian classical music. The highlight of the evening was a performance by internationally acclaimed sitar maestro Ustad Shujaat Husain Khan, whose rendition captivated the audience and reflected the depth and enduring appeal of Indian classical music.
In his opening address, Ambassador of India to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan underscored the long-standing and evolving relationship between India and Saudi Arabia, rooted in shared history and strengthened by common aspirations for peace, progress, and prosperity. He also highlighted the expanding cultural engagement between the two countries, including the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on Cultural Cooperation aimed at further deepening people-to-people ties.
The event was attended by senior Saudi government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of the Indian community, and music enthusiasts from across Riyadh, reflecting the growing cultural connect between the two nations.
