Delhi to receive 2,800 new electric buses under PM E-Drive Scheme

Delhi’s public transport system is set for a major boost, with the national capital to receive 2 thousand 800 new air-conditioned low-floor electric buses.

In a social media post, Delhi Minister Ashish Sood said the buses will be inducted under the PM E-Drive Scheme, strengthening the city’s public transport fleet. He said the new buses will enhance last-mile connectivity and provide commuters with a safer, more comfortable, and convenient travel experience. The Minister added that the initiative will further accelerate Delhi’s transition towards a cleaner and more sustainable urban transport system.

Mr Sood said the initiative marks a significant step towards building a developed, modern, and green Delhi. He added that the expansion of public transport infrastructure will help reduce pollution, improve civic amenities, and make daily commuting easier and more efficient for the people of the national capital.
