A team from the Special Staff of Delhi Police’s South District recovered over eight Kilograms of high-quality Charas valued at approximately nine crore rupees in the international illicit market.
Three Nepalese nationals involved in the supply of commercial quantities of charas have also been arrested. The Delhi Police said that the accused sourced charas from the Indo-Nepal border and distributed it across Delhi through a WhatsApp-based delivery network.
The Investigation revealed that the accused used WhatsApp to receive orders and accepted payments through digital banking channels. Police said that to avoid detection, the accused deleted chat and call records after every transaction and used auto-rickshaws and bike taxis for deliveries.
It further added that financial transactions, electronic devices, and digital evidence are being analysed to identify other members of the syndicate and trace the complete supply chain.
