The Delhi High Court has directed the authorities to monitor the health of activist Sonam Wangchuk on a daily basis, stressing that every life is precious. Mr Wangchuk is on an indefinite fast at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.
A bench comprising Chief Justice D K Upadhyaya and Justice Tejas Karia directed that Mr Wangchuk’s health condition be regularly monitored by government doctors. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the Centre and the Delhi Government, submitted that every life is precious and said there was no objection to conducting Mr Wangchuk’s regular medical check-ups.
