Delhi Urban Development Minister Ashish Sood has announced the release of the second installment of the Basic Tax Assignment for the civic bodies of the National Capital. An amount of over Rs 1,850 crore has been sanctioned for the current financial year for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, New Delhi Municipal Council and Delhi Cantonment Board.

The funds will support essential municipal and civic services across the national capital, including waste collection and disposal, repair and maintenance of neighbourhood roads, streetlights and local parks. Mr Sood said the government is committed to transforming Delhi’s urban infrastructure and ensuring financial support for public welfare. He said timely release of funds is being ensured so that development works continue without any hurdles.
