The Delhi Government has extended the existing arrangement of paper-based Pink Tickets for women availing free travel in Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses till 17th September. The decision has been taken to ensure a smooth transition to the Pink Saheli Smart Card-based system and to prevent any inconvenience to women commuters during upcoming festivals.

Delhi’s Transport Minister Dr Pankaj Kumar Singh said that the extended arrangement will allow women to continue availing free bus travel during the transition period, and thereafter the Pink Saheli Smart Card system will be fully implemented. He informed that nearly 19 lakh women have already applied or registered for the card. The Delhi Government has appealed to all eligible women commuters to complete their Pink Saheli Smart Card registration and obtain their cards at the earliest.
