The Delhi Government will begin distributing free bicycles to around 1.3 lakh girl students of Class 9 from this month.

In a social media post, Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood said the initiative reaffirms the government’s commitment to removing barriers to education and empowering every daughter. He said the bicycles will make their journey to school more accessible, encourage regular attendance, and ensure that no girl’s education is limited by distance.

The Minister added that every bicycle is a step towards greater opportunity, confidence, and a brighter future.
