Delhi finds 106 industrial units non-compliant with pollution control norms; closure orders issued against 33

The Delhi Government has identified 106 industrial units as non-compliant with the prescribed environmental standards during inspections conducted between January and July this year. The government said that inspections were carried out at 2,100 units, of which 106 were found to be non-compliant.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that during the inspections, 78 units were found operating without valid consent to operate from the Delhi Pollution Control Committee. She added that the government has also taken action against units found violating the rules. The Chief Minister said the government has imposed environmental compensation on 44 units, while closure orders have been issued against 33 non-compliant industrial units. The Chief Minister said that the government will extend all possible support to industries that comply with environmental regulations.
