Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today called upon the youth to shoulder the responsibility of taking India forward and contribute towards making the country a developed nation.
Addressing a gathering of young students during the Tiranga Yatra in New Delhi, the Chief Minister said the freedom enjoyed by citizens today was the result of the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters.
Recalling the contributions of Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Rani Lakshmibai and other freedom fighters, Ms Gupta said they had dedicated their lives to the country’s freedom. She urged the youth to take a pledge while holding the Tricolour to work towards strengthening the country and helping India emerge as a developed nation.
The event was attended by BJP national president and Rajya Sabha MP Nitin Nabin, Union Minister of State and Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra and Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood.
