Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today hoisted the national flag on the occasion of 80th Independence Day in New Delhi. Speaking on the occasion, Ms Gupta said that Independence day is an occasion to remember the extraordinary courage, sacrifice and dedication of countless brave souls who gave everything and laid the glorious foundation of an independent India. She also paid tribute to all the freedom fighters whose struggles provided a strong foundation for India’s democracy.

The Delhi Chief Minister also said that the fluttering Tricolour is not only a symbol of the country’s glorious past, but also a pledge towards its bright future.
