Delhi CEO holds meeting with political parties ahead of Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls

As the House to House Enumeration of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Delhi to start from the 30th of this month, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Delhi chaired a meeting with the representatives of political parties regarding SIR in New Delhi yesterday.

 

In a statement, CEO’s office said that the representatives of various political parties, including Bhartiya Janata Party, Aam Aadmi Party, and Indian National Congress, attended the meeting. It added that the CEO informed them about the main objective of the SIR ‘No eligible citizen is left out while no ineligible person is included in the Electoral Roll’.

 

Political parties were also briefed about the important activities to be undertaken during Enumeration Phase. Political parties were also described about the procedure of filling Enumeration Form in different cases. It noted that certain queries were raised by the political parties regarding the SIR which CEO clarified. The political parties were requested to cooperate with the Election Machinery involved in the SIR at different level and they assured full cooperation, assistance and active involvement during the SIR.
