A five storey building today collapsed in the Satya Niketan area of New Delhi. The Delhi Fire Service has informed that three people have been rescued and sent to nearby hospital. It said that 18 fire tenders have been deployed in the relief and rescue work at the location.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu has directed all concerned agencies to work in coordination to ensure swift rescue efforts on the ground. In a social media post, Mr Sandhu said that the situation is being closely monitored and it will be ensured that every possible support reaches those in need. He also prayed for the safety and well-being of everyone affected.

In a social media post, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that an adjacent building has also been vacated as a precautionary measure and every possible effort is being made to safely rescue those trapped and provide immediate assistance to affected families.
