Defence Ministry signs ₹660 crore contract with BrahMos Aerospace for Navy

The Ministry of Defence has signed a contract worth over 660 crore rupees with BrahMos Aerospace Private Limited for procurement of BrahMos Fire Control System and Launchers for Indian Navy ships. The contract under the Buy (Indian-Indigenously Designed, Developed and Manufactured) Category was inked in the presence of Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh in New Delhi.

 

With a minimum 68% of indigenous content, the project encourages active participation of various Indian industries including MSMEs. The BrahMos System fitted onboard various frontline warships is the Indian Navy’s primary Surface to Surface Missile system for maritime strike operations. It will bolster India’s maritime security architecture and defence capabilities.
