Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today said India is closely monitoring developments in its neighbourhood and beyond, along with their strategic implications, amid major changes in modern warfare and the global security order. Addressing Exercise Tarang Shakti 2026 at Jodhpur Air Force Station, Mr Singh said the Indian Armed Forces are undergoing a fundamental transformation in their structure, capabilities and strategic approach, guided by the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. 

 

After witnessing an aerial display at the air force station, the Defence Minister said the established world order was changing rapidly, while the shape of the emerging global order remained uncertain. Mr Singh added that Atmanirbhar Bharat does not mean isolating India from the world. Instead, it involves building domestic capabilities to design, develop, manufacture, maintain and upgrade critical defence technologies.
