Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today saluted the courage, valour and sacrifice of the brave infantrymen of the Indian Army on the occasion of Shaurya Diwas. In a social media post, Mr Singh said that from the historic battlefields of 1947 to the most challenging frontiers of today, the infantrymen have held the line against overwhelming odds, stood firm whenever the nation needed them. He said they have made the supreme sacrifice to ensure that India stands tall. The Defence Minister further stated that their unwavering devotion to duty, exceptional courage and readiness to make the ultimate sacrifice embody the finest traditions of the Armed Forces. He added that the nation takes immense pride in its Infantry and will remain forever grateful for its service and sacrifice.
