Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has departed for Cebu, Philippines, to attend the 13th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM)-Plus. In a social media post, Mr Singh said that he looks forward to addressing the forum on shared regional and international security issues. The Minister also reiterated India’s commitment to ASEAN centrality and the peace, stability, and collective growth of the Indo-Pacific region under the Act East Policy. He said that the ADMM-Plus remains the premier platform for defence and strategic consultations in the region. 

 

During the visit, he will hold several bilateral meetings with his counterparts from participating nations. The Defence Minister said that these interactions will be a great opportunity to review ongoing defence ties and explore new avenues to strengthen the strategic partnerships.
