Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today chaired the 6th meeting of Informal Group of Ministers in New Delhi to review the availability of essential commodities and the resilience of supply chains, keeping the West Asia situation in mind. In a social media post, Mr Singh informed that the supply situation in the country today is normal. The Minister called upon citizens to avoid panic purchase of petrol, diesel and LPG as the Govt is pulling out all stops to ensure the availability of all essential items. He said that the Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been doing excellent work since the conflict in West Asia broke out. The Group of Ministers expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for his farsighted vision and providing outstanding leadership during difficult times. During the meeting, Mr Singh directed the officials to make continuous efforts to enhance the nation’s preparedness in light of the evolving situation. He stressed that fertilisers and other essential agricultural inputs should remain adequately available to farmers to ensure that food prices in the country continue to remain stable.
Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda, Power Minister Manohar Lal, Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Ports, Shipping and Waterways Minister Sarbananda Sonowal among others were present during the meeting.
