The death toll from a passenger ferry fire in the Philippines rose to 76 today after rescuers recovered more remains. Forty-three of the 132 people aboard survived the Wednesday night fire, while 13 remain missing. The ferry was sailing from Manila to Coron in southwestern Palawan province when the fire broke out about 39 kilometres from its destination. The cause remains under investigation.
