The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – Central Road Research Institute (CSIR-CRRI) today organised a specialised training programme for engineers of the Public Works Department (PWD) of the Delhi Government in New Delhi. The Ministry of Science and Technology said that the programme centred on the implementation of the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) Standard Framework for the paving and greening of urban roads across the National Capital Territory. 

 

It added that the comprehensive one-day training schedule covered technical and field-level planning modules led by CRRI domain experts and Scientists. During the event, topics such as Framework Background and Principles, Carriageway Design and Data Formats, and Transit and Non-Motorised Transport, along with Safety and Infrastructure Integration, were covered. Meanwhile, it also underscored the critical role of scientific road design, environmental mitigation, and standard paving techniques in curbing road dust and improving Delhi’s overall air quality.
