In Chhattisgarh, a jawan of Central Reserve Police Force-CRPF was killed in an explosion in Bijapur district today. A team of CRPF was on an area domination in Galgam area under Usoor police station. During the operation, an Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL) accidentally exploded. Constable Devendra Kumar of 196th Corps of CRPF got injured in this incident. The injured security personal was admitted to the Jagdalpur hospital, where he succumbed to death during treatment.

In another incident, a jawan of CRPF was injured in an IED blast in Bhairamgarh area of Bijapur district. The CRPF team was carrying out area domination in the area around the polling booth located in Chihka village, when the pressure IED exploded.
