CPN UML Vice-Chairperson Subash Chandra Nembang passes away

CPN UML Vice-Chairperson Nembang who was elected member of the House of Representatives from Ilam constituency no 2 passed away due to cardiac arrest. He was 71. Nembang died while undergoing treatment at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) yesterday.

The government has declared a public holiday this coming Thursday and will lower the flag at half-mast to mourn the demise of Constituent Assembly Chairperson Subash Chandra Nembang. The Constituent Assembly Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson of the CPN-UML passed away yesterday due to a heart attack. He was the former Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) of Nepal.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli, Speaker Devraj Ghimire, National Assembly Chairperson Ganesh Timilsina and other parties' leaders paid tribute to the departed soul.

Nemang was born on 28 Falgun 2009 BS and had developed his image as an accommodative leader in Nepali politics. 

The meeting of the House of Representatives scheduled for Wednesday has been postponed.

A meeting has been scheduled for Thursday for the purpose of passing a condolence resolution over the demise of Nembang. The CPN (UML) has made arrangements for paying tributes to its Vice Chair Subash Chandra Nembang within the party central office from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. today.

The mortal remains of the leader are to be kept within the party central office at Chyasal in Lalitpur till 1:00 pm today before taking the body to his residence in Baluwatar.

There, family members, relatives, and friends will have time to pay their respects to the late leader.

The arrival of his sons from abroad is awaited for the performance of his last rights which have been scheduled at 11:00 am tomorrow, Thursday with State honours at the Pashupati Aryaghat.

In honour of the late leader, the party has decided to observe three days of mourning and lower the party flag to half-mast during this period.
