Defense Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader, Rajnath Singh, has said that the Congress government in Chhattisgarh is not serious at all about left-wing extremism.
 
Addressing a public meeting in Kanker, Chhattisgarh on 1st July 2023, Saturday, Rajnath Singh stated that the NDA government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has successfully curbed left-wing extremism over the past nine years, and now the Maoist problem is confined to certain states of the country.
 
Rajnath Singh also mentioned that the Bharatiya Janata Party has always been a well-wisher of tribals, whereas the Congress ruled the country for many years without doing anything for the development of tribal areas. He alleged that during the Congress rule in Chhattisgarh, forceful and wrongful conversions are taking place.
 
During his visit to Kanker, the Defense Minister also met renowned craftsman Padma Shri Ajay Kumar Mandavi at his residence as part of the BJP's "Sampark Se Samarthan Abhiyan".
