In Chhattisgarh, the Congress government survived a no-confidence motion moved by the main Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party on the last day of the Monsoon Session of the State Assembly.
The no-confidence motion was defeated by a voice vote in the State Assembly late last night after a 13-hour debate.
Earlier, the House witnessed a stormy debate over the no-confidence motion as the Opposition members targeted the Congress Government over alleged scams, non-fulfillment of its poll promises, and “deteriorating” law and order situation.
Replying to the debate, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said the Opposition charge sheet lacks facts.
