Indian Meteorological Department today said conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand during the next 3 to 4 days. It said monsoon is likely to advance into the remaining parts of Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand and
Bihar during the next 3 to 4 days.
The weatherman has also predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely along the West Coast during the next five days. Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is also very likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh till the 28th of this month. Isolated heavy rainfall is also likely over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on 27th and 28th June.
Meanwhile, maximum temperatures are in the range of 40 to 43 degrees Celsius over many parts of Punjab and West Rajasthan, in some parts of Haryana and in isolated pockets of Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, East Rajasthan, East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Heatwave conditions have been observed in isolated pockets of Punjab and Bihar. The highest Maximum Temperature over the country of 45 degrees has been reported at Jaisalmer in West Rajasthan.
