The Communist Party of India (CPI) on Saturday (6th April 2024) released its manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections. It was released by the Party General Secretary D Raja in New Delhi. In its manifesto, the party has said that it will work towards complete restoration of the Old Pension Scheme, abolishment of Citizenship (Amendment) Act, and will fight to promote public sector with equality of opportunity along with ensuring reservations in private sector. The Party also said that it will raise the demand for increased funding for health and education to create health and education infrastructure which is accessible to all and will strive to implement women’s reservation immediately by removing the clause relating to delimitation and census. The CPI will also strive for increasing minimum wages to 700 hundred rupees under MGNREGA and increasing the available work days to 200 in a calendar year.
Addressing the media, D Raja said that this General Elections have become very crucial for the country and its future. He also accused the Narendra Modi government of not fulfilling the promise of Acche din.
