Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal welcomes IMF’s 7% GDP growth projection for India in 2027

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal today hailed the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) projection of 7% GDP growth for India in 2027. The Minister said that the country’s multiple free trade agreements (FTAs), pursued under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, are expected to boost global economic activity and strengthen supply chain resilience. The growth projection comes despite the IMF’s warning that the global economy’s resilience is becoming increasingly fragile amid rising energy and food prices and escalating geopolitical uncertainty.
