Minister of Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy today said that coal gasification is emerging as a key pillar of the nation’s industrial and economic transformation. Addressing a Roadshow on the Scheme for Promotion of Surface Coal and Lignite Gasification Projects in New Delhi, Mr Reddy said that the country is steadily advancing towards a future-ready, self-reliant and secure energy ecosystem under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Highlighting the government’s strong commitment towards promoting coal gasification, the Minister noted that the government has launched an eight thousand 500 crore rupees incentive scheme and recently approved an additional 37 thousand 500 crore rupees financial support package to accelerate Coal Gasification projects across the country. He highlighted that domestic industrial capacities have become increasingly important for India’s long-term economic growth and strategic industrial security. The roadshow witnessed participation from policymakers, State Government representatives, industry leaders, technology providers, investors, financial institutions and key stakeholders from across the coal gasification sector. Minister of State for Coal and Mines Satish Chandra Dubey also attended the event as the Guest of Honour.
