Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant inaugurated the country’s first Victim Rights Centre in Patna. The first-of-its-kind Victim Rights Centre in the country is established on the premises of the Bihar State Legal Services Authority. The centre will provide legal rights and essential assistance under one roof to victims of various crimes, including invisible victims.

It will provide psychological support to victims, along with counselling and other facilities. The centre is being launched in Patna district as a one-year pilot project. It will subsequently be extended to all districts of the state.

On this occasion, the Chief Justice will also launch a Transgender Helpline and flag off multi-utility vehicles. Justice Surya Kant will also address a lecture being organised at Lok Bhavan today.
