Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal AP Singh today said that drones and unmanned aerial systems are an extension of air power.
Addressing a joint seminar and exhibition organised by the Centre for Aerospace Power and Strategic Studies (CAPSS) and Indian Military Review (IMR) on Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), Mr Singh said that drones and unmanned aerial systems offer reduced risk in terms of human lives during operations.
Mr Singh said that they are succeeding because they possess all the intrinsic qualities of air power and must be clearly understood. He added they are also low cost which also makes them very attractive.
The Chief of the Air Staff also recalled the success of Operation Sindoor and said that the operation was successful because of coordination.
