The Chhattisgarh government has issued new guidelines to ensure austerity in government expenditure and maintain financial discipline. The directives have come into immediate effect and will remain in force till September 30, 2026. The objective is to ensure efficient management of the state’s financial resources and bring greater discipline in public spending.
According to the guidelines, only essential vehicles will be allowed in the motorcades of the Chief Minister, the Council of Ministers and other officials. Government vehicles will be replaced with electric vehicles in a phased manner, and vehicle pooling will be promoted to reduce fuel expenditure.
The government has also imposed a complete ban on foreign travel by government employees.
Virtual meetings will be given priority, and energy conservation measures have been made mandatory in government buildings.
