Chandrayaan-3 marks India’s emergence in soft power diplomacy: Vice President

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar highlighted that the most important impact of Chandrayaan-3 is the emergence of India in soft power diplomacy. Addressing the 25th Convocation of New Delhi Institute of Management on Friday, Mr Dhankhar said that it is just a matter of time that India will rise to number one from top four in this category.

During his speech, the Vice President also said the institution of power brokers is dead and it can never be revived. He stressed that transparency and accountability are hallmark of governance and there is zero tolerance for corruption now. Mr Dhankhar said, India has become a bright spot in global economy and built an ecosystem where everyone can fully unleash their talent and energy. He also urged the students to give up negativity and celebrate the country's achievements and make contributions to the society as a proud citizen. Describing the judicial system as very robust, the Vice President stressed that the culture of taking to streets, when one is booked for transgression of law, must die down. Mr Dhankhar also described the conduct of public representatives as dismal and called upon the students to create a system in which they will want their representatives to exemplify conduct that can be emulated to inspire others.
