Chandigarh is set to hold the 3rd Asian Relays Championships 2027. Punjab Governor and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, Gulab Chand Kataria, today received the championship flag, which was formally handed over to Chandigarh during the closing ceremony of the 2nd Asian Relays Championships 2026 held in Shaoxing, China. Mr Kataria described it as a proud milestone for Chandigarh. He said the city is honoured to host the next edition of the prestigious continental championship. Akashvani Correspondent reports that this would be the second biggest international sporting event to be hosted in Chandigarh since 1989, when the Asian Rowing Championships were held here.

The Asian Relays Championships is a prestigious continental competition organised by the Asian Athletics Association, bringing together leading relay teams from across Asia in men’s, women’s and mixed relay events, including the 4×100m and 4×400m races.
