The two-day international conference on Voter Registration and Voter Registers 2026, organised jointly by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Jharkhand, and Central University of Jharkhand, concluded today at NUSRL in Ranchi.
Over the past two days, the conference discussed the Special Intensive Revision, accuracy of electoral rolls, migration, participation of women and youth, electoral rights of marginalised sections, and voter registration systems in countries including Australia, Canada, Estonia, Sweden, Ghana and South Africa. Experts emphasised the use of digital technology, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in voter registration and electoral-roll management, along with the need to ensure data privacy, cybersecurity, transparency and human oversight.
