Centre to develop over 160 km long Rameshwar-Paradeep Highway along Odisha to boost tourism & spiritual journeys

The new Rameshwar-Paradeep Coastal Highway is over a 160-kilometre corridor that will redefine connectivity across Odisha’s coastal belt. The project being developed by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has the total capital cost of over eight thousand crore rupees. The highway will pass through Khurda, Puri, Kendrapada and Jagatsinghpur districts, creating a seamless connection between important cultural, religious, tourism and economic destinations. The new highway will create opportunities for local communities by encouraging the growth of hotels, homestays, restaurants, handicraft markets and tourism-based businesses along the corridor. The project will also connect 9 economic nodes and 5 logistics nodes, further strengthening Odisha’s economic network.
