Centre has released funds of over 75 thousand crore rupees to States and UTs under the National Disaster Response Fund and State Disaster Response Fund during last three years from 2023-24 to 2025-26.

In a written reply in the Lok Sabha today, Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai said that the State governments undertake relief measures in the wake of natural calamities from the State Disaster Response Fund. He said, the Central Government supplements the efforts of the state governments and provides requisite logistics and financial support.

The Minister said, additional financial assistance is provided from the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF), in case of disaster of severe nature.
