Central team led by Mr. Ravinesh Kumar, Financial Advisor NDMA visited various flood-affected villages in Mohali district of Punjab

As part of the initiative taken by the Union Home Ministry to assess the loss due to recent floods in various parts of the country, a central team led by Mr. Ravinesh Kumar, Financial Advisor NDMA (National Disaster Management Agency) visited various flood-affected villages in Mohali district of Punjab today.

The team was assisted by Divisional Commissioner Indu Malhotra and other officials. The team assessed the type of losses viz Residential, Livestock, Crop, Roads, etc. The team members themselves visited affected villages, banks of Ghaggar river and agricultural lands filled with sand now. The team also met and listened to the plight of affected villagers, farmers, political leaders as well as office bearers of Kisan Unions.

Mr. Ravinesh Kumar and other team members said that the team is assessing the losses and will send the report to the ministry concerned at the earliest. They will also visit Patiala and Sangrur to assess losses there.
