The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) has released the 52nd monthly report on the Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System of Central Ministries and Departments’ performance for the month of August.
More than 2.42 lakh grievances were redressed by central ministries and departments in August this year, with an average grievance disposal time taken of 13 days. The report states that the Department of Posts, the Department of Telecommunications and the Department of Financial Services (Insurance Division) topped the Group ‘A’ category in the rankings, while the Ministry of Steel, Shipping and the Ministry of Development of Northeastern topped the Group ‘B’ category.
Over 1.38 lakh new users were registered last month, with the maximum registrations from West Bengal. The report provides a detailed analysis of types and categories of public grievances and the nature of disposal. The department also released the 49th report of CPGRAMS for states and union territories for the month of August. The department added that more than 98 thousand cases were received, and over 79 thousand grievances were redressed by the states and UTs last month.
